MEXICO CITY (apro).- PRI Senator Alejandro Moreno attended the extraordinary session of the Permanent Commission convened by the president of the board of directors, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, this Friday, during which the brawl between the two legislators that occurred on Wednesday, August 27, was debated.

"Alito" Moreno intends to issue a statement and reject the attacks against Fernández Noroña, Congresswoman María Dolores Padierna, and the collaborator of Morena senator Emiliano González.

Before the session began, Moreno emphasized that he had come to defend citizens' positions, rights, and freedoms.

He said what happened in the brawl is a consequence of what has happened in the Senate after seven years of attacks, threats, and persecution of opponents.

"We cannot allow, first of all, violence, offenses, attacks on legislators, failure to honor agreements, and refusal to give us a voice. Those in power must listen to the opposition and dissidents, even if they don't like it," he said.

"The consequences of what has happened in this Senate are the context of seven years of attacks, threats, persecution, and attacks on opponents. You saw the videos, what the president of the Senate of the Republic has experienced, assaulting female and male legislators, so this cannot be allowed."

The tricolor senator emphasized that his party will not miss any opportunity to express its position and work for Mexico.

PAN and Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) legislators did not attend the extraordinary session called by Fernández Noroña.
